Appendix C Preferred Option – Appendix C1 Queenstown Town Centre Drawings and Renders: Drawings (NZTA F2Q QTC Business Cases, Queenstown Town Centre – Overall Layout Plan and General Layout Plan with Arterial Route)
These are concept drawings for the Queenstown Town Centre preferred option in the 2020 NZUP Queenstown Detailed Business Case. After two divider pages (Appendix C Preferred Option; Appendix C1 Town Centre Drawings), drawing C200 shows an overall layout plan of the town centre with the arterial route on aerial imagery. Drawings C201-C214 (14 sheets) give general layout plans with the arterial route, covering Melbourne and Henry Streets, Gorge Road, Man/Thompson Streets, Lake Esplanade and town centre streets. They show proposed street layouts, lanes, crossings, bus stops and proposed retaining walls. All sheets are marked 'Conceptual' and 'Not for Construction', dated 13.11.2020, and are to be read with the Preliminary Design Philosophy Statement (APX_C4). No mass rapid transit corridor or corridor protection is shown.
What the document says
Context: Appendix C of the Queenstown Transport Business Case (NZTA Contract 2018235). The drawings are by the Stantec-led consortium, whose title blocks carry Stantec, WSP, Abley and Waka Kotahi logos. Designer and checker names are redacted.
Content: Page 1 is the Appendix C 'Preferred Option' divider and page 2 the Appendix C1 'Queenstown Town Centre Drawings and Renders – Drawings' divider. Page 3 is drawing 310201227-01-001-C200, 'Overall Layout Plan with Arterial Route' (NTS), on aerial imagery. Pages 4-17 are drawings C201-C214, 'General Layout Plan with Arterial Route', sheets 1-14. They show proposed street layouts along the arterial route and town centre streets, with proposed retaining walls and bus stops. Notes state that no survey was undertaken, cadastral boundaries are indicative, and streetscape designs need to be revised to tie in (p.3).
Mass rapid transit: The drawings show no mass rapid transit alignment, terminal or corridor protection.
