NZTA Value, Outcomes & Scope Committee – minutes excerpt on the Queenstown Strategic Network Plan (9 July 2026)
Part of: Rapid transit evidence →
Excerpt from the minutes of NZTA's Value, Outcomes & Scope Committee of 9 July 2026, which recommended that the Board endorse the Queenstown Strategic Network Plan. The committee supported the balanced multi-modal direction, including provision for a future offline public transport solution, and noted order-of-magnitude costs of $1.5–2.5 billion over 30 years. It recorded assurance feedback seeking stronger integration of land-use levers, clearer evidence of effectiveness and a more robust rationale for sequencing, and asked that Board material include indicative investment ranges and stage timing.
